Korean Braised Spicy Chicken

Main Ingredients

Chicken2 pound cut to big pieces
Potato1 large or 2 small, cut to big chunks
Onion3/4, cut to big chunks
Green Onion2, cut to 1 inch pieces

Seasoning Paste

Soy Sauce2 Tbsp
GoChuGaRu (Chilli Powder)1 Tbsp
GoChuJiang (Chilli Paste)2 Tbsp
Garlic4 cloves minced
Ginger1 Tbsp minced
Black Pepper1/2 Tsp
Sugar1/2 – 1 Tbsp

Direction

  • Marinate the chicken with salt, pepper, and milk for 30 minutes. Rinse the chicken afterwards.
  • Put the chicken in a shallow pot, add 2 cups of water and the seasoning paste. Cook for 15 minutes with the lid on.
  • Add the onion and potato to the pot and cook for another 15 minutes with the lid on.
  • Open the lid, turn the heat up to thicken the sauce.
  • Add the green onions and cook for 1 minute.
  • Serve directly with the pan.
